DIATEAM with the region of Brittany at the European Commission

Last week, DIATEAM was part of the delegation with Loïg CHESNAIS-GIRARD, President of the Region of Brittany, for a visit to the European Commission, in Brussels.

Guillaume PRIGENT & Amélie GAUTIER have represented DIATEAM in this delegation of cyber companies from the Region of Brittany accompanying its President Loïg CHESNAIS-GIRARD & Jérome TRÉ-HARDY, member of the Regional Council of Brittany in charge of digital affairs, for a trip to the European Commission, in Brussels, to meet multiple interlocutors.

DIATEAM, along with Brittany’s companies Alcyconie, Wallack, Sekoia.io, Almond, as well as Agence Bretagne Next & Pôle d’Excellence Cyber, has been able to discuss with the cabinet of Andrius Kubilius, European Commissioner responsible for defence and space, militarian and civil France EC representatives, DG Connect (communication networks, content and technology), DG DEFIS (defence industry and space) and DG EMPL (employment, social affaires and inclusion).

Guillaume PRIGENT has taken advantage of these meetings to emphasize several topics that he deems as essential:

– the importance of cybersecurity in the maritime sector and the numerous development opportunities associated with it,

– the possibility for SMBs to have easier access to European projects, especially by simplifying application processes,

– the emphasis on a real European sovereignty by trusting companies that have been developed and setup on European territory.

 

Furthermore, this trip has been an opportunity to showcase Brittany’s dynamic ecosystem in every aspect of cybersecurity (business, training and research, institutions…) and to discuss potential development and enhancement lines to foster.
